Client briefing
According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), around 2.3 billion people worldwide — roughly one billion of them in Africa — still cook their meals using rudimentary, inefficient methods, breathing in the harmful smoke released by the uncontrolled burning of coal, charcoal and firewood. This is estimated to contribute to 3.7 million premature deaths every year, with women and children most at risk. Moving to more efficient cooking devices would bring real benefits to people's health and to the environment.
The solution
The product is a stove temperature monitoring device, designed to certify that the stove is actually being used. Battery powered, its power management gives it a working life of more than 10 years.
Recorded data can be retrieved either over BLE or through a memory accessible via NFC.
Technical specifications
Low cost, low power, miniaturisation
