Design

The design stage expresses a complete, multidisciplinary development cycle. DAOS Group covers the full spectrum of electronic design and PCB layout, integrating firmware and software development, including advanced Linux Embedded architectures. The hardware is completed by precise mechanical design, industrial design and antenna engineering. The team also develops dedicated apps and guides the product through pre-compliance testing and the final certification process, ensuring that every device is optimised and compliant with international standards.

Electronic design

Engineering of electronic circuits, from requirements analysis through to the selection of optimal components (microcontrollers, sensors, power modules) to ensure efficiency and reliability.

PCB design

Layout and design of the multi-layer printed circuit board (master PCB). The work optimises signal integrity, thermal dissipation and geometric footprint in compliance with layout standards.

Firmware development

Development of the low-level software that brings the hardware to life. Written to optimise power consumption, manage sensors in real time and ensure secure, stable and responsive communication.

Software development

Programming of high-level software architectures and application platforms. Scalable solutions designed for data processing, the human-machine interface (HMI) and integration with cloud and external systems.

Cloud development

In-house we design and build the data-reception engines and databases, while relying on a network of external partners for the implementation of the graphical front ends.

Linux embedded

Configuration, customisation and optimisation of Linux operating systems for dedicated hardware platforms. Ideal for complex devices requiring high computing power, advanced connectivity and multitasking.

Mechanical design

3D mechanical design of housings and structural components. It ensures perfect integration with the electronics, ease of assembly and durability suited to the operating environment.

Antenna design

Design and optimisation of dedicated antennas (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, cellular, sub-GHz and more) to deliver excellent radio performance, maximum signal range and reduced interference, even in tight spaces.

Antenna performance

Measurements can be carried out both passively and actively, using state-of-the-art instruments such as the StarArray, a matrix RF detector that enables fast and precise measurements of the performance of each radiating element. A 10-metre anechoic chamber allows active measurements in a fully anechoic regime.

Industrial design

Study of the product's aesthetics, ergonomics and user experience. It combines technical functionality with modern, appealing design, strengthening the client's brand identity on the market.

Development of native or cross-platform mobile applications (iOS and Android) that let users configure, monitor and control electronic devices directly from a smartphone or tablet.

Testing

Software testing is carried out both with manual verification protocols and with automated continuous integration systems. Bugs (inevitable!) are tracked automatically with web tools such as Mantis, to give the client full visibility of the effectiveness and timing of the correction process.

Pre compliance

Preventive laboratory testing to verify the device's electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and electrical safety ahead of official testing, drastically reducing the risk of non-compliance.

Certification

Complete management of the bureaucratic and technical process with accredited bodies to obtain the mandatory markings (such as CE, RED, FCC, CRA), ensuring that the product is legally marketable in its target markets.
