Augmented reality headset

The client already has an advanced product that fully meets the needs of several types of user. It now wanted to check whether it could take a step forward by miniaturising the electronics, moving to Qualcomm chipsets and refining the mechanical solutions.

The product lets the operator wearing it receive visual information processed remotely. A camera gives the remote operator a full view of whatever is in front of the person wearing the headset.

On that basis, graphics and text can be sent to the eye displays set into the top of the device, to assist the operator through the task.

To improve the quality of the audio sent from the operator in the field to the control centre, DAOS assessed advanced noise reduction technologies such as bone conduction and beamforming.

Qualcomm chipset, Bluetooth audio, video transfer, high-speed serialisation, mechanical design
